How to customize your SiteStakes real estate website design

Customize Real Estate Website Design

The Customize Colors tab lets you change colors, fonts, effects, and component styles in place. Use quick presets or pick exact values. Reset to Defaults rolls back any change.

What can you customize on your real estate website design?

To customize real estate website design without picking a different design, use the Customize Colors tab. This lets you change colors, fonts, effects, and component styles in place.

You find the Customize Colors tab on the same Styles page. Go to Back office → Design → Styles and click the second tab labeled Customize Colors. To change real estate website colors quickly, use the preset palettes at the top of the tab. To change individual values, scroll down to the section you want.

This article covers the main customization options, which ones come with each plan, and how to roll changes back if you don't like them.

What are quick color presets?

Quick Color Presets are pre-built color combinations you can apply with one click. They override the colors from your active design without changing anything else (fonts, layout, effects stay the same).

Presets fall into three categories:

  • From Your Styles. One preset matching each available design. Useful if you applied one design but want the colors from a different one.
  • Industry-Specific. Presets built around real estate use cases. Cash Buyer, Luxury Investor, Friendly Local, Corporate Trust, High Energy Deal, Clean Professional.
  • Trending / Seasonal. Presets that rotate based on what's trending. Dark Mode Pro, Earth Tones, Coastal, Midnight Blue, Warm Neutral, Spring Fresh.

Click any preset and the colors apply to your site immediately. To go back to your design's original colors, click Reset to Defaults at the top of the tab.

What else can you change?

Below the color presets, the Customize Colors tab has several more sections you can use to fine-tune your site:

  • Core Colors. Primary, accent, background, and foreground hex pickers if you want exact control.
  • Body Text & Links. Body text color, link color, and link hover color.
  • Typography. Heading font and body font selectors. The available real estate website fonts appear in dropdown lists.
  • Premium Effects. Toggleable effects like gradients, shadows, glows, and hover animations. Premium real estate website effects require Pro plan or the Premium Styles Add-on.
  • Layout & Animations. Page width, section spacing, scroll animations. Pro plan or add-on.
  • Header. Header background, sticky behavior, logo positioning.
  • Hero Section. Hero background, overlay opacity, text alignment.
  • CTA Section. CTA block colors and button styling.
  • Buttons. Border radius, border width, border color, font weight.
  • Cards. Border radius, border width, border color, border style.
  • Footer. Footer background, link colors, layout.

Every change saves immediately to your live site. To revert one section, edit it back to the default. To revert everything, click Reset to Defaults at the top of the tab.

Which customizations require a Pro plan?

Most customization options work on every plan, including the free Dark Mode Pro preset. A few are gated:

  • Quick Color Presets. Dark Mode Pro is free on all plans. Midnight Blue requires Grow or higher. The remaining presets require Pro or the Premium Styles Add-on.
  • Premium Effects. Pro plan or add-on only.
  • Layout & Animations. Pro plan or add-on only.

The Customize Colors tab shows a lock icon on any section you can't access. Click the locked section to see an upgrade prompt that links to pricing.

Tips to customize your real estate website design

  • Try a preset first. Quick Color Presets save you from manually picking 4-6 hex values that work together.
  • Change one thing at a time. Adjusting a color and a font and a button radius all at once makes it hard to tell what broke when something looks off.
  • Check mobile after every change. Customizations that look fine on desktop sometimes break on phones.
  • Use Reset to Defaults when you get stuck. Going back to the design's defaults takes one click. You can always start over.

Most tenants who customize real estate website design only adjust one or two things — a color tweak and a font swap. Keep it simple.

For picking a design in the first place, see Real estate website designs. For changing your site's navigation menu, see Website menu builder.

Frequently asked questions

Do customizations carry over if I switch designs?+
No. Switching designs resets color and font overrides to the new design's defaults. Take a screenshot of your customizations first if you want to keep a reference.
Can I save my custom colors as a preset?+
Not today. You can only apply pre-built presets, not save your own.
What fonts are available?+
The Typography section shows the available fonts in dropdown lists for heading and body. Both lists pull from the same set of fonts the platform supports.
Will customizing break my mobile layout?+
The platform keeps your mobile layout responsive across all customizations. Heavy color contrasts or large font sizes can still affect readability on small screens, so check mobile after big changes.
Can I revert just one customization?+
Yes. Each section saves independently. Edit any section back to the design's default value to revert just that one change.
