How to Upload a Logo and Favicon to Your Real Estate Website

Getting Started

How to Upload a Logo and Favicon to Your Real Estate Website

When you upload a logo and favicon to your real estate website, it replaces the default text placeholder in your site header, emails, and PDF ebooks with your own brand identity. The favicon for your real estate site appears in browser tabs and bookmarks. SiteStakes crops your images, generates every size you need automatically, and applies them sitewide in seconds. Most users finish in under 5 minutes.

Where do you upload your logo and favicon?

Upload logoYou upload your logo and favicon on the Service Area page in your back office.

  1. Open your back office.
  2. In the sidebar, click Admin → Service Area.
  3. Scroll past the Custom Domain card.
  4. You'll see two cards stacked one after another: 🖼️ Site Logo and 🔖 Site Favicon.

How do you upload your logo?

You upload your logo by clicking Upload Logo in the Site Logo card, then cropping the image. SiteStakes generates the website, email, and ebook sizes automatically.

  1. In the 🖼️ Site Logo card, click Upload Logo.
  2. The Media Library opens. Drag your logo file into the upload area, or pick a file you've already uploaded.
  3. The crop tool opens with a draggable rectangle over the image.
  4. Drag the corners to crop. Keep the aspect ratio wide — logos look best longer than they are tall, roughly 3:1 or 4:1.
  5. Click Save Crop.
  6. SiteStakes generates three sizes automatically — one for your website header, one for emails, and one for PDF ebooks. You don't pick sizes.
  7. The card now shows two previews — Website Preview and Email Preview — so you can confirm it looks right at both sizes.

To change it later, click ✏️ Re-crop to adjust the existing image, or 📤 Upload Different to replace it.

To remove it, click 🗑️ Remove Logo. Your site goes back to the default text placeholder.

  6. SiteStakes generates five sizes automatically — 16×16 and 32×32 for browser tabs, 180×180 for the iOS home screen icon, and 192×192 and 512×512 for Android and progressive web apps. You don't pick sizes.
  7. Open your site in a new browser tab. Your new favicon appears in the tab title.

What image sizes should you start with?

Upload the largest, highest-quality version of your image you have. SiteStakes downsizes — it doesn't upscale. Real estate website branding starts with sharp source files.

For your logo, start with an image at least 800 pixels wide. Anywhere from 1200 to 1600 pixels works best. Save it as a PNG with a transparent background so it sits cleanly on any header color. Logos look best wider than they are tall — aim for a 3:1 or 4:1 aspect ratio.

For your favicon, start with a square image at least 512×512 pixels. 1024×1024 works even better. Save as PNG with a transparent background. Pick a single bold symbol or initial — favicons display at 32×32 pixels in browser tabs, so anything detailed disappears.

If you don't have a favicon yet, your logo's most distinctive element — your icon, monogram, or initial — usually works. Crop tight on that one piece.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my logo look pixelated?+

You uploaded a small image and SiteStakes scaled it up. Re-upload at a minimum of 800 pixels wide. PNG format gives the cleanest results.

My logo has a white background — can I make it transparent?+

SiteStakes doesn't remove backgrounds automatically. Use a free tool like remove.bg before uploading, or export from your design tool with the background hidden.

Where does my logo appear?+

The website version appears in your site header. The email version appears in welcome emails and drip sequences. The ebook version appears on PDF lead magnets you send to leads. Different sizes generate automatically for each context.

When do logo and favicon changes go live?+

Logo changes appear on your real estate website immediately. Favicon changes appear after visitors hard-refresh their browser tab — browsers cache favicons aggressively, so the old one may stick around for hours or days otherwise.

Can I use a JPEG instead of PNG?+

You can, but JPEGs don't support transparency. Your logo will have a visible background color (usually white) that won't match dark headers or colored email templates. Stick with PNG when possible.

Can I upload more than one logo?+

You can upload as many image files as you want to the Media Library, but only one is active as your site logo at a time. Use 📤 Upload Different in the Site Logo card to swap which one is active. The same applies to favicons. Browse all your uploads in the Media Library.
